Extending to a total of 69 acres, the new Tritax Symmetry Park Bicester has the capacity to deliver up to 963,000 sq ft of logistics floor space.

The BasePower solution

The build schedule for the first 300,000 square foot building was under threat due to the late provision of electrical power capacity. By working closely with the Independent District Network Operator  (IDNO) and District Network Operator (DNO), BasePower was able to arrange for enough power capacity to be allocated to the site from a nearby area. This allowed the original building occupancy schedule to be met, and fulfilment specialist Syncreon to move in as the anchor tenant.

As a secondary task, BasePower conducted a thorough review of the installation and commissioning of the PV solar system on the site. During this assessment, BasePower was able to identify several issues in the as-built setup that would restrict function. By providing instructions for these to be corrected, the PV generation was able to be bought to full function.

BasePower has since taken on operation of the solar PV system. This includes handling meter readings and compiling bills for the occupier, ensuring seamless management of this zero-carbon generation source.
