This large project in the food sector features a 2.7MW energy centre which was developed, procured, built and is now operated by BasePower on a customer-funded basis.
Project highlights
2.7MW energy centre
Steam via waste heat boiler, hot water loop, chill via an absorption chiller.
BasePower developed the project, including obtaining planning and permitting consents in the factory’s urban location.
Once the customer had opted to finance the project themselves, BasePower procured and financed the project under an EPC contract. Aligning grid connection and other interventions with the factory’s busy production schedule, the project was switched on in the scheduled time and budget, in December 2019.
The waste heat steam boiler was commissioned shortly afterwards, with the hot water and chill following during the Spring.
BasePower’s work with this client has now been extended to six other food manufacturing sites in the customer’s portfolio.
